Based on a recent study I saw on a news magazine show, I believe the current thinking is that mosquitos are attracted by carbon dioxide, which is what mammals exhale. However, I doubt that the study included Dutch mosquitos! Based on two independent reports, we now have strong indications that yellow boats are clearly visible to at least one form of aerial transport ;-) (if only those insects were strong and smart enough to rescue us when needed, sigh).
