Judging from recent posts, a lot of us started all-Euro and then migrated to all GP or at least a lot of GP with Euro reserved for certain conditions. Has anyone started with GP and converted to all Euro, or gone from Euro to (mainly) GP and then gone back to (mainly) Euro? Race Rocks on a bad day that startyed out nice. 3 paddlers. One separated away without notification to the other paddlers during initial gusts. Two top paddlers with EP's made it to a safe zone. Other good paddler trapped on lee shore in a small pocket, GP paddler, unable to power through conditions. Third paddler was a former EP'er, switched to GP, and went back to EP after aforementioned episode. GP wasn't a storm paddle, however. Have related this story on PW prior. I will try a GP when I get a skin boat or stripper. Until then, I'm glad to sit back and read through the PW musings where the issue threads its way through the fabric of recent posts, including one entire digest! I see now that no one on PW will ever be up the creek without a paddle! My Euro paddles...I don't like them, I love them. Just wish Lendel used oval shafts. Derek Hutchinson's paddle? I'll just leaf that one alone.
