Matt, You may want to also incorporate some closed foam spontoon wings to be worn around the arms and head of all paddlers in your ideas (I relinquish all rights to you). These wings would cause the paddler who remains inside his boat to float into a Greenland sculling position where he could breathe. Then by pulling on the line that is attached to his "Invasion of the Kayak Snatchers" gear carrier, he could bring it close enough so that he could then roll up by grabbing the snatcher. Of course you couldn't use California ballast rocks with this set-up because California rocks have a natural high and they would interfere with the boat rolling. You would need rocks that want to be low. Steve Holtzman Southern CA Unless someone can show me some "prior art" I'm claiming a trademark on the term SPONTOONS for small craft flotation (as of Nov. 5th 2002, when I first used it on Paddlewise). Originally, I used the word because of the connotations of sponsons, pontoons and cartoons all rolled together into one neat word. *************************************************************************** PaddleWise Paddling Mailing List - Any opinions or suggestions expressed here are solely those of the writer(s).
