[Paddlewise] rough landings etc

I have found over the years that the best thing for running in an out of the
beach is a strip of sail repair cloth stck to the bow and stern and then
laminated  in a neat run with epoxy mixed with chopped matt this gives a
degraeable rubbing strip and saves the bottom of the kayak from getting all
the  missing bits  from the gel coat and it is removeable if you so desire
at a later date . The sail cloth being impervious to the resin so uyou end
up witha moulded self adhesive rubbing strake in effect. okay likw where I
am located in the  u.k. with pebble beaches with sharp drop offs to land on
and leave from.. may be of some help to someone. chris cook
