I have found over the years that the best thing for running in an out of the beach is a strip of sail repair cloth stck to the bow and stern and then laminated in a neat run with epoxy mixed with chopped matt this gives a degraeable rubbing strip and saves the bottom of the kayak from getting all the missing bits from the gel coat and it is removeable if you so desire at a later date . The sail cloth being impervious to the resin so uyou end up witha moulded self adhesive rubbing strake in effect. okay likw where I am located in the u.k. with pebble beaches with sharp drop offs to land on and leave from.. may be of some help to someone. chris cook *************************************************************************** PaddleWise Paddling Mailing List - Any opinions or suggestions expressed here are solely those of the writer(s).
