This sounds like an idea worth trying. Does the sail cloth adhesive fail
after a while, or get sand under it? I have recently tried "3M helicopter
tape" (see http://www.oceanplanet.com.au/home.html and search repairs,
maintenance) and part of the bow section is still hanging on after 6 months,
but the stern became ragged very quickly. At $18.70 per metre, don't bother.
