Another lesson to quote a friend: " A tow belt in you day hatch is like a
condom in your wallet". When you need a tow line you do not have time to go
searching for it.

sounds like an interesting day

Are you suggesting that a tow belt should be stored in your underpants
at all times? "Is that a tow belt in your pants or are you just happy to
see me?"

SS,

This lesson was going through my mind as I was digging through the day hatch
with one hand while bracing in the surf with the other.

I've carried a tow line for over two years and have only used it in practice
sessions. On the ocean, most tows are because someone is sick, tired, or
incapacitated for some reason. This allows you plenty of time to deploy a
line and get it hooked up.

About 6 months ago, I finally started to put the tow belt in the day hatch
instead of wearing it. Since the surf zone doesn't give you the luxury of any
time, I realize I blew it. The tow line stayed around the waist for the rest
of the trip and will be there in the future.

Steve

Can anyone tell me if there is a kayak group in the area of Granbury,
Texas? We're looking at property along/near Lake Granbury, which is
part of the Brazos River's course.
Any particularly handsome stretches of water on the Brazos?
