Hello, all, I'm considered "hard to shop for," so I am in the enviable position each year of issuing a modest wish list. Although I took a class in navigation and actually enjoy it, I am a consumer electronics junkie, and the thought of having one more thing with batteries and an LED screen has invoked serious silicon lust -- I am interested in getting a GPS unit, and wondered what your recommendations were. I've read the preserved thread regarding GPS software and the fine points of various chart/map suppliers and download techniques. However, the thread doesn't say much about GPS devices, and is from 1999 anyway; I presume a few things have changed.
