>>I am strongly considering purchasing a Sierra Designs Meteor Light CD tent. Anyone out there with an opinion on this tent, solo tent size during layovers due to weather, free standing tents in general, or Sierra Designs? << I've had a Sierra Designs Half Moon, a similar model, for some years now and I think it's a terrific tent. Easy to put up, stays up in heavy wind, and does a reasonable job of heat retention in cold weather. I've had no problems, except one; the tent fly coating started to stick to itself, but somehow seemed to be waterproof anyway. I queried Sierra Designs via their website about that.... It took them Five Months(!) to respond. Basically they said Gee, they didn't know what could have caused that so didn't know what to do, but I could always buy another one from them. I'm still using the original, and it still keeps water out.... Nonetheless, I would recommend the brand...
