The Magellan Meridian Marine is preloaded with navigation markers, buoys, obstructions, etc, You can load additional maps and charts. It is easy to use. I have not had it in a heavy water environment. It uses two AA batteries. I have found a minimum battery life of approximately 7 hours at 70 degrees. Works well in a car, too.
