[Paddlewise] GPS Stowage on kayak?

I've had an old Garmin for years, and have always found it to be waterproof.
The hazard is that it doesn't float! Plus, like any computer, it doesn't like
to dropped. My solution is one of these little rubber cases with a velcro
closure that floats. I keep my gps, my waterproof binoculars and my vhf (in a
waterproof case) right in front of me in my deckback, which improbably has
also proved to be waterproof (as long as I keep it zipped up). Oh, and the
binoculars will sink too if you give them an opportunity. My solution was to
attach a little red and white fising float to the strap. Helps me find them
in the deck bag, too.
