Thanks for the many responses to my question about binoculars. I have had quite an education, but have not purchased anything. I have a question--those of you who do carry full binoculars--where do you carry them? A monocular would be easier to manage, but the one I am considering, which was suggested here, is a bit pricey. I am going to get a deck mesh bag for my water bottle, GPS, and binocs or mono. I am really put off by the 3 pound weight of one of the binocs that was suggested to me. That weighs more than my tent! Once I learn to roll, I will be doing a lot of coastal paddling, and Mississippi River paddling. Thanks again.
