I know this isn't what you're probably looking for, but I'm on my second Toyota PU truck (4WD Tacoma) and while they get but 19 to 22 mpg they do last. Just change the fluids regularly. My '86 went 333,333. miles, and no, that isn't a joke, before it lost a main bearing. Just plain bad luck. I think it might have gone 500,000 except for that.
