It seemed like a good boat for beginners, being both stable and fast. Probably difficult for a couple of beginners to turn without a rudder though. But you hardly ever see them used without a rudder. Some people question the robustness of the fixed rudder for launching off a beach into the surf. However, I've never seen a broken rudder on a Mirage.
