As I said I bought mine mostly for use on the
sailboat, but..

I plan to carry them in a waterproof bag in the kayak
when conditions are such that they are likely to get
wet and unlikely to be used. They will be in my lap
with the skirt open or around my neck in calm
conditions when I am observing the wildlife.

This pretty much negates their use when conditions are
less than benign, but that isn't how I plan to use
them in the kayak, so I can live with it.

Ideally I would like to have a way to store the
binoculars, a 35 mm SLR, and a few lenses in a deck
bag that is completely waterproof, stays out of the
way, and allows silent, lightning quick access.
Unfortunately no bag I have found meets those
requirements. :)

Pete
