[Paddlewise] Big Guys Can Write

Wes Boyd mentioned is an unrelated message to me a comment about
back-to-back articles being rare in Sea Kayaker Magazine _where the
individuals were both subscribers on Paddlewise_. I had no idea what the
heck he was talking about -- Canadians don't get home delivery of SK until
well after our US friends do. It's been bugging me, and rather than just ask
Wes, I stopped in the magazine store today to check out if the latest issue
was in yet (stores get theirs before mailouts arrive here in BC). And there
it was, Wes' article on paddling for large folks. It was a great article,
sensitive, pertinent, and should be a major encouragement for larger
paddlers (and points large paddlers to his excellent web site). A friend at
work, with similar issues to Wes, is thinking about getting into kayaking,
so I picked up an issue for her (I get a free one anyway with my recent
submission, and tend to be liberal with placing extra copies of SK Mag.,
Wavelength, and Deep Trouble in the hands of newbies  - kind of an
ambassador thing, so hopefully that is okay to mention here, Kirk). Now,
when are some of the rest of you going to submit some stuff. I read a lot of
good info from this list, and there are venues (a number of other magazines
out there too) where you can share with a broad audience. Okay, gotta go
play with my kids. BFN
