I'm a big fan of trailering, particularly for long kayaks (e.g. K4s). The bounce can be mitigated by using soft suspension and by slinging the kayaks. One thing I would caution against, though. Keep clear of those little weeny light duty pup trailer axles and wheels. Due to long highway trips, I had problems with bearings burning out way too frequently, and axles warping over time despite no overloading. I haven't looked back since moving to a solid construction company utility trailer.
