Richard, you mentioned slinging the kayaks.  Could you describe this?

I'll describe what I've been considering:  setting up a kayak trailer for 
multiple boats and was thinking of creating H shaped slings for the boats 
that would hang from an overhead support bar.  To go three boats high, 
think of two Hs staked on top of one another.  The entire multi-boat sling 
would be made of webbing (maybe 2"?) - with 1" securing straps sewn in.  It 
would be attached to the support beam above - and to the deck of the 
trailer at the bottom.  You'd have to slide the boats in from the back end 
rather than from the side of the trailer but maybe that is OK.  Is this 
similar to what you are suggesting?
