I purchased the NSI Paddle Gripz from Outdoor Play. It is a stick on mini cell foam index for your paddle shaft designed to help you both grip your paddle better and orient your hand quickly to the proper paddling position without having to look at your hand. The self adhesive foam applied easily. First apply the "bump" of the index. Its a separate piece of foam about the size of a pencil. This goes on parallel to your shaft at the position where you normally place either hand. Then take the sheet foam and wrap it around the shaft and overthe index "bump". You can feather the overlap point of the sheet foam with a supplied piece of sandpaper. The sheet foam really helps to grip the shaft much the way a foam grip helps on a mountain bike handle bar. My whitewater paddle shaft was not oval and quite slick feeling. The Paddle Gripz solved both problems and helped improve my bracing ,rolling and for some reason especially my sculling. Nice product. $12.95 and $6.95 shipping. Outdoor Play popped a $10 coupon towards my next order in the box. Nice. Unfortunately I really didn't see anything else I wanted. I will sell the $10 coupon for $8 plus $3 shipping. Such a deal!
