I'm replacing the cord on my tow line and I want to reduce the bulk.
Currently I'm using about ten metres of eight millimetre nylon cord, and I'm
curios as to what other folk are using. I considered Spectra cord, buy it
seems stiff and I think it would tangle easily.

Any thoughts?

Cheers

Spectra is used a lot by ultra light backpackers. I have only used it
sparingly, but others say it is substantially abrasive. When I talked about
using it as a throw rope to hang food away from bears, some people said it
abrades trees. I would think that if that were true, it might also abrade
gelcoat, although I have never tested this theory. It is very light,
though. Marsanne

An easy way to cut Spectra is to stretch it very tight and saw at it with
another hunk of Spectra. It really IS abrasive!
