We used it for our kids as a hand-me down from people who had used it for their kids in the 9 to 12 age group. Eventually people get to big to fit but it may last til 13 or 14 if she is that small. We had no complaints about the boat. Needs floatation. Ours has been in use between the various owners on week long ocean (west Vancouver Island) camping trips for the last 7 years. No complaints. Handled moderately rough weather well.
