I have a tiny 98 Escort and it has tie down attachments on all four sides. I don't use a roof rack, I only use the foam blocks that come with simple roof kits. I also run a line through the back windows and over the top of the kayak. I transport a 17' Perception Eclipse using this method every other weekend 300 miles each way and never had a problem. Well, I'll have to say I do feel a bit silly with a kayak 2 times longer than my car but oh well :) *************************************************************************** PaddleWise Paddling Mailing List - Any opinions or suggestions expressed here are solely those of the writer(s).
