Doug: Your enviable post raises a question I have had for a long time. Is anyone aware of mishaps involving kayakers who have gotten too near whales? I can't remember reading of such incidents, and I am wondering if that is because they (almost) never occur. (Sorry if this topic has already been discussed already.)
