[Paddlewise] Civic Hatchback Rackage

I just converted from a 1990 to a 2000 Civic and am
considering pitching the Yaks and bolting some tie-downs in
the gutters running along the roof (not rain gutters, but
channels in the roof (what are they for anyway?)), and using
notched foam blocks.

Anybody out there done this?
