Works good for my no-rain-gutters car (which is not Honda). I used a sleeping pad and rope tie-ups through the windows, but eventually invested in a used Yakima saddles and rollers and have never regreted since then. I din't know roof cross-section details for Civic, but some rails/channels are too flimsy to put any stress on them. Besides, bolting through the roof will decrease resale value of the car.
