When my partner and I paddled from Freeport to Jonesport over three weeks in June-July '99, we covered both extremes. Most days we were in paddling shorts-- no rubber at all. If the wind was up (or came up) we were in dry suits with full liners. We had feathercrafts, so we weren't worried about capsizing in calm weather (or getting back in the boat if we did). Our nemesis was a nice sunny, windy day. On days like that we did our paddling, if any, at dawn. douglas in sf *************************************************************************** PaddleWise Paddling Mailing List - Any opinions or suggestions expressed here are solely those of the writer(s).
