Quoting DMon707_at_aol.com: > .... We had feathercrafts, so we > weren't worried about capsizing in calm weather (or getting back in > the boat if we did). I've heard this one enough to ask the question - Why is it that feathercrafts are thought not to capsize? I've heard it from someone wanting to go on a trip of mine, who had no experience in wet exit or recovery, who said it was OK 'cause she just got a feathercraft. The reason I'm baffled is because the only time I have capsized unintentionally on open water was in a feathercraft K1. I had little bracing skill at the time and was unknowingly sitting over a sand bar when a wind wave, well, you get the picture. I now have a Khatsalano and am quite sure that it would capsize with the best of the hard shells. So where does this myth come from? Or am I the only klutz who has capsized a K1?
