Here is a link to a FAQ page about Marine Tex epoxy. Sounds like something I should add to my repair kit. Although I have used MarineTex on my boat and carry it in my emergency kit, I just found out about the putty stick. I always figured that the normal MarineTex with a 1 hour cure time could always be used for on water repairs--the putty stick sounds like an even better material for this use. Might not be pretty, but could certainly prevent a boat from sinking. There is 2 years shelf time for regular (slow-cured) putty, must be similar for Stick, I suppose. Alex Said: >That Stick Putty is single-component; I don't get it - is it epoxy or what? According to my local West Marine, it really is a two part epoxy. One part is wrapped around the other and they are 2 different colors. You mix them by kneading them together until the color is uniform.
