I'd use the same size cable as the bent one myself... and possibly the same length too... I buy mine from my local chandlery to get a stainless one. I now also have a small cord threaded through a hole at the end of the skeg so if it does jamb my buddy has something to pull on to free it when on the water. You have to learn not to force the slider if it feels stuck or you will bend the cable every time, and pass this message onto people you lend the boat to... VCP now have an improved design with a solid bar at the slider end to reduce the bendy cable problem at that end. on 27/6/03 12:28 am, PaddleWise at owner-paddlewise_at_paddlewise.net wrote: > Date: Thu, 26 Jun 2003 10:51:23 -0700 (PDT) > From: Shawn Baker <shawnkayak_at_yahoo.com> > Subject: [Paddlewise] Bent VCP rudder cable > > I loaned my VCP Avocet RM to a buddy, and he jammed the skeg box full > of gravel, then reefed on the slider and bent the skeg cable. > > What size SS cable should I be on the lookout for?
