anyone have any advice as to the best way or ways to get to the park from
there, things to see or avoid, names of friendly businesses or people who
will accept shipment of stoves and food in advance, ANYTHING that will
help make our trip better? None of has been there before nor do we know
anyone who has.

With that exit date, you won't have a lot of competition.

Do you have your permit yet? Costs bucks, and they are on a quota.

Moresby Explorers (Doug Gould) is the primary transporter of yakkers and
gear. He can also hook you up with cheaper overnight lodging in Sandspit,
and they will pick you up the morning of transport. His crowd will also
shuttle you to Moresby Camp if you elect not to do any over-water transport.
The paddle around Louise Island is a good one. Email me for details and
check here for a trip report from 2000:

Doug is a deep reservoir or good advice on the way things really operate up
there, and a phone call to him is probably your best first move. Here is
email to get you going: dgmorex_at_mail.island.net

I was last in the Charlottes in 2000, and the public transportation scene
then was as it was in 1996: miserable. Bruce's taxi was it, and it was a
minimal service, and expensive. If you can hoof it to the grocery in
Sandspit from your lodging, it will save money.

I've done several trips up there, from 1996 - 2000, and can rec some routes
and places to avoid, if you like. Email me off the list.

No affiliation with Moresby Explorers, just a very satisfied customer.
