I, too, am wearing the Toketees and they are working out very well. My foot size is 10-11 and the Nike 10s were too tight across the metatarsal and not wide enough. The Toketees are rather narrow and fit much like a rock shoe. The 11 fit fine and allows a lightweight poly or wool sock to be worn. I had to do a steep angle large rock portage last week and the Toketees performed very well. The heel retention really works when traversing areas of sticky mud. I've done a few cross current swims w/ boat in tow in a fast river and there was no slippage or interference. I ended up with both styles; the Toketee mid w/ ankle coverage and the low version which is similar to a low top tennis shoe. I paddle a hybrid boat, Dagger Crossover, and this is one of the few specialty shoes that easily fit in the bow without interference. Nike did well with this design.
