Joshua said (snip): >I have a dream to do this one day. It is very far off, to be sure...I've been looking at websites, and can't seem to find one piece of crucial info: How long a distance is it? What is the circumference?< 580 nautical miles. Mike and a friend (Mike is an instructor friend of mine from the Victoria Canoe & Kayak Center) got some good weather in early spring and completed the circumnavigation in six weeks. Mike's friend was a relatively new paddler, which suggests that they obviously kept a good weather eye and kept hyper-vigilant -- strategies that are as important as good skills, perhaps skills in their own right. Mike can be reached through the company web site I imagine: http://www.canoeandkayakcentre.com/index.htm or directly at: http://www.canoeandkayakcentre.com/mikes_tour.htm Doug Lloyd (no financial interest in VC&KC) Victoria BC *************************************************************************** PaddleWise Paddling Mailing List - Any opinions or suggestions expressed here are solely those of the writer(s).
