There are many good boats out there for smaller paddlers, though you do
not say how small we are talkin here. The Wilderness System Tchaika is 14' by
22 and a really fun boat which I beleive is now available with a skeg. My
wife loves it. The Sparrow Hawk, a Wilderness system Greenland style boat, is
16' plus and sporty and gorgeous, though it might seem a bit tippy compared with
what you are paddling now. The Vela by P&H is a lovely boat also and comes
with a skeg, as does the Current Designs Slipstream, a lower volume version of
their Gulfstream. The Anas Acuta by VCP is the classic, and comes with a
skeg. There are others. The smaller paddler really has a lot to choose from now.
