Just a tiny contribution to compensate all that I have received from you folks. Just one word. When I was caught in the breakers, I did paddlefloat rolls and leaned on the paddlefloat to brace and broached all the way to shore. It would have been impossible to try placing the outrigger. Still it is a better technique than swimming to shore separate from your boat.
