That's the problem! I know better, but don't use the skeg myself 99.5% of the time, and forget to mention it to others...and also tend to forget to think about jamming the skeg box. I'm pretty good about always lifting my boat into the water..but others think "plastic boat, I can drag this"..and they do >" VCP now have an improved design with a solid bar at the slider end to reduce the bendy cable problem at that end. That helps some, but I have the new bar in my Avocet RM, and it still has a purty sharp little kink. BTW, GRO has replacement cables for $6 retail.
