[Paddlewise] ABC's of the Surf Zone

I just posted a review of Wayne Horodowich's new video/DVD titled "ABC'S of
the Surf Zone to our local club's web site. The review can be found at

IMHO opinion, the video is awesome. It is a very thorough instructional work
on how to launch and land in surf without breaking your body or your boat. It
is not about kayak surfing. A lot of the video was filmed at Point Conception,
CA and Jalama Beach. This can be some of the biggest surf you can imagine. 





I remember the first time I went to Jalama (without a kayak) and my wife
looked at the endless line of breaking waves marching to the beach and said -
"Oh you can kayak here Steve because you can launch and land in surf".





I still have never kayaked at Jalama  ;-)





Although, several California Kayak Friends members and I appear in it, we do
not have any kind of a financial stake in the video, University of Sea
Kayaking, or any of Wayne's professional endeavors.





Wayne is a friend and our only compensation for helping was to get our own
copies of the video.
