We were lucky enough to buy new Cape Horn's last month, and they have the Phase 3 seats. They are nice. Nice to be able to materially change the contact points with the boat. Two hours without getting out has been our max so far, but I didn't feel cramped or sore at that point. One thing to consider - the seat back makes re-entry from the water a little tougher as it flops down where you want to sit. Perhaps a bungie would allow it to pop back up as you rotate your butt into the seat. Layback rolls are a bit harder too. But perhaps it's a good trade-off for the comfort it brings. Gotta work on some other rolls I guess. If only I could lower the seat back without popping the spray skirt. Maybe when I build my stripper I'll rig it so the same seat can be used. *************************************************************************** PaddleWise Paddling Mailing List - Any opinions or suggestions expressed here are solely those of the writer(s).
