there's an 'intensive' session coming up in Seattle>>

Freedman is in Seattle this week, conducting a workshop at The Center for
Wooden Boat. The center is at the South end of Lake Union. He will be there
though Sunday (09/28/03). You can't miss the class it's right at the entrance.

I prefer to work at his shop in Antacortus WA. More room and you can work as
late or start as early as you want.

The reason I built his Baidarka: Half the weight and a third the price for the
SOF compared to a glass boat. I was not interested in being a traditional
Aleut kayaker. I still use a Ero. type paddle.

The reason I did the workshop: No room at home, all tools are at hand and
ready to use, and expert help. All the wood is old growth Red and Yellow
cedar. The wood is salvaged from old clear cuts some have been on the ground
for 40 years. Skin of 8 to 14 ounce ballistic woven nylon.
