Tom, I have been I the West Arm but not the East. Those I know who have done both recommend the West so I think you are making a good choice. Two quick suggestions: The wind blows cold off the glaciers so bring plenty of warm clothes. We you paddle up through icelden waters toward the glaciers only do so on a falling tide.
