Steve wrote: Prince William Sound in August. Any advice you could offer would be appreciated. Steve, Prince William Sound is a big place. Where exactly will you be paddling? August can be a rainy time in PWS so be prepared to paddle in the rain and camp in the rain. Also a lot of the Glaciers are very active and calve huge chunks of ice. Avoid the temptation of paddling too close lest you get slamed by the ice. If you hear a voice in your head saying "come on Steve you can come closer than that", ignore it! Backpaddle fast! It is the voice of the Ring Of Power luring you to Mordor. "Remember the Ring wants to be found." (Gandalf) Oops sorry, I got carried away a little there didn't I. Seriously PWS is a wonderful place top paddle but at the same time a wet and wild place so be prepared and enjoy Bob *************************************************************************** PaddleWise Paddling Mailing List - Any opinions or suggestions expressed here are solely those of the writer(s).
