Steve, A little futher info on Prince Willaim Sound:

National Geographic put out a series of maps titled " Trails Illustrated
Maps" The Prince William Sound West covers the area you are planning to
paddle. It is a great resource. I got my copy at REI but you might check out
www.nationalgeographic.com The map is waterproof so it is protected from
drooling as you study all the places you can paddle.
The map includes camping sites and "kayak landing beaches".
As you plan your itenery be sure to include a weather day. It is especially
windy in the Whittier area. In fact I think they should change the name to
Windy-er Alaska.
Which outfitter are you planning to us?
Have fun
Bob
