Are single people whose family is far away, sad and lonely on Christmas Day? Are they sad because Santa Claus didn't bring them the carbon graphite paddle they wanted? OK, a little. But not really if they paddle and live in the San Juan Islands! Beautiful paddle today, some stiff gusts and wind waves, but blue skies with high, white clouds and lots of our seasonal visitors, in the way of interesting water-fowl, for company. Sat and floated by a bald eagle, brilliant against the blue sky. The pines on the surrounding islands are lit up with sun, and Mount Baker is glowing with white snow in the distance. Although the conditions were pretty much those that Doug would consider "dreadfully boring", it sure beats football. Merry Christmas from Limestone Point, San Juan Island.
