I'd like to hear any opinions - based either on experience or gut-level
intuition - regarding the boats described at this website:

http://www.vetterkayaks.com/

Basically, it is a kevlar lay up hull with a neoprene deck - which
incorporates 48" zippers for access to the hatch areas - manuf claims the
boats weigh in at about 36 lbs. I'm interested in this boat for use in
areas where frequent packing/unpacking might be needed - and possible
portaging - like Boundary Waters or Quetico in northern MN. Obviously a
canoe is the normal craft for these areas.

Again, just looking for some opinions.

Thanks in advance,
Keith

I don't get it?? My original <18' Kevlar Nordkaap weighs in at 40 lbs so
where is the weight saving? This hard/soft boat doesn't fold and I would
think the seams will give trouble down the road.
