I have a new "Paddle of the Week" (this one has a humorous bent) and a new trip report "View from a 1000 miles" up on my website. You can check them out at

Mark, that Link is getting me to Earthlink, but then I'm getting "Page
not found" errors. Is there a typo in there somewhere, or another way
to access it?

Also, the "View from a 1000 miles".... is that related to last years
distance goals that you had to revise a couple times? I'm curious how
you ended 2003, and what sort of goals you might have for 2004. Can you
share that with us?

Rick

Take out the apostrophe ('), leave in the tilde(~).

Nice site, Mark.

Sorry for the typo. As Steve indicated it should have been

http://home.earthlink.net/~mjamja

(no apostrophe before the tilde)

As for as my goals. Last year I originally laid out a general schedule for
3000 miles hoping that I would actually get 2000 Nm in for the year. By
July it was clear that I was not going to come close to the 2000 Nm and
even 1000 Nm was going to be tough to reach. I really wanted to at least
reach 1000 so I tried to get more time on the water in the second half of
the year. I averaged 120 Nm per month for Aug - Dec to reach 1003.25 Nm for
the year. Aug. at 90 Nm was the low for that stretch and Nov at 175 Nm was
the high. I think 1500 Nm is a realistic goal for 2004, but I am going to
start out trying to follow a 2000Nm pace because I know something will come
up later in the year.

And yes that trip report is about the paddle where I reached 1000.

Greetings,

I am curious if anyone is paddling the Wilderness Systems Tempest 165 with the Phase 3 cockpit outfitting.

My interest is regarding its performance in moderate winds and following seas.

Will size 11 feet fit under the deck?

I have to travel a few hundred miles to test paddle one and I want to make sure I can get my feet in before I set up the trial.

Thanks all.

~~Holmes
