The rack is fine. The rack had been used for only 1 boat for some time and
when a second boat was put on it for a short trip a dimple formed about 1/4 of
the way in from the rear rack. We used the exact measurements in the
directions for installation so I have to admit to being disappointed but . . .
What does this mean? <<(1) be sure the foot of the rack is out to the edge of
the roof >> The bracket for the tower clips to edge of the roof.

is (1) be sure the foot of the rack is out to the edge of the roof (where
there is support underneath the sheet metal), and (2) avoid overtightening.>>
