I'm afraid a weatherman may have other priorities then getting it right.
In the Netherlands, a weatherman was once threatened with his life for
predicting bad weather. Some madman just got fed up with all that rain
outside.

On the saner side: There is big money involved here. A good forecast on
a summerday might draw millions of people to the amusementparks, never
mind the actual weather. A bad forecast will mean money for
movietheaters and musea. How is sponsoring your weatherman? "This
forecast was brought to you by GoreTex".
