Check out www.bcuna.com (BCU North America) for information on star award
requirements. The BCU sets "standards" for achieving star awards. Technically
there is no formal training syllabus for 1 to 4 star training but outfitters who
follow the BCU system tend to offer training courses focused on providing
training to help achieve these awards. Five star is another story as you must
participate in an authorized BCU 5 Star Training course.

The BCU Handbook however is an excellent source for various types of
information on paddlesports and I highly recommend getting a copy. Also available from
BCU North America.

Just a quick question...

Is the following the BCU training manual most appropriate for info on star
training:

Canoe and Kayak Handbook
by British Canoe Union, Franco Ferrero (Editor)
Paperback: 351 pages; Dimension in inches 9.44 x 6.69
Publisher: Pesda Press; March 2002
ISBN: 0953195651

Do any of you folks have better suggestions for reading material?

As always, thanks in advance!

Tom
