G'Day Gordin,

I'm not sure if this is the same as tennis elbow but for some years ago I
developed a very stiff, slightly painful, elbow on my right arm. The cause
was some combination of: - excessive sweep strokes (instead of edging the
boat), poor computer ergonomics (important contribution as I'm a desk
worker) and too tight a grip on the paddle.

I fixed all the above and also went to a kayaking physiotherapist who
provided some simple exercises which completely cured this problem and some
shoulder problems. The exercises are a bit hard to describe but I thoroughly
recommend finding a physio who knows about tennis elbow.

All the best, PeterO
