A few weeks ago I discovered my Valley large oval hatch had rotted and cracked. I took some heavy duty plastic and a piece of heavy duty bunjii and made a temporary cover. It worked perfectly, didn't leak during rolls and was air tight enough to go convex when the boat heated up. I left enough bunjii after tying the knot so I could easily remove it.
