G'Day Doug' and Mark,

Marvellous! How can I possibly respond to these profound insights and
superlative dress sense? I considered rendering the whole sorry incident
into Haiku but sentiment dictated a return to my preferred metier: -

Bring forward Mark Arnold's case for
"Kayakers V. Big Motor Boat Thingys"

THE WITNESS STEPS FORWARD

G'Day Yer Wership, It were like this: -

	A canoeist handsome and bold
took a kayak that couldn't be rolled
to the stern of a boat
	which reversed and then smote
and sunk him in water darn cold

Why was there not a loud beep
to tell of the trouble so deep
	I would like to complain
of the fear and the pain
and the loss of my hat makes me weep

PETERO ELEVATED TO THE BENCH AS A JUDGE ON ACCOUNT OF HIS EXTREME WISDOM AND
HEIGHT

No need for a beep to reverse
for the crew will quite loudly curse
and God gave you two eyes
	but note NOT nine lives
So use them! Avoid something worse!

All the best M'Lords, syncretisticaceously, Peter
And how can a kayak be a work of art
when the common wisdom says its invisible?
