I use a truck bed extender called a Hitch Hand all the time for my kayaks.
It adjusts in height and width, so easily carries two Feathercraft side by
side or our double Nautiraid. When I unload, I just pitch the Hitch Hand in
the back of the truck and it's safe. I have a cap over the bed. It sure is
nice to load and unload so easily, just a few bungies to hold things in
place.
